Howdy friend!

The monarch is a special place for Music, Art & Community

What makes The Monarch so special? Lots of different things… our mission, the people, the intent behind all we do, the sound, the vibe, the place itself and the love we put into carefully curating a special place for music, art and community to be shared. It really is unlike any other.

Community over commerce. It’s family style around here and you can Bring Your Own refreshments. For real! We’re genuinely not a bar and we don’t sell anything at all. Instead of purchasing from us, we encourage you to directly support the music and artists that enrich all our lives. That’s what matters most to us.

It feels like home. It’s comfy ‘n cozy like Grandma’s house but it’s outfitted as a communal hub and creative workspace for Louisville artists, musicians, and creatives of all sorts. We’re also an essential destination for artists visiting and touring through our city.

This is OUR PLACE. We keep our doors open through the support of people who believe Louisville needs a space like this. Those supporters are our members, who enjoy daily access to our facility, also the tools and creative magic that happens here. We share it with the broader community through special events several days each week.

The best listening room this side of the Mississippi. (Maybe the other side too) We know how important music is. It makes us better as people. We provide folks with a special place for musical experiences that’ll fill their cup and more.
Music brings us together, and together we make a difference.

OUR SPACE IN ACTION

Since June of 2022, we’ve hosted over 408 community music/arts events, featuring over 1589 local, regional, national and international touring Artists. (Including GRAMMY winners like Jason Isbell, Margo Price, Jim James, Nappy Roots, Michael Cleveland & more)

501c3 Nonprofit arts organization

We’re a co-working space and communal hub for the creation, education, collaboration, performance and advancement of original music and art. We provide writing, rehearsal, performance and meeting spaces, workshops & educational programs, and communal tools of the trade for musicians and artists of all levels.

Our mission is to encourage, support and promote local and touring artists while promoting music and art appreciation and education in our community. We empower Artists, because they empower, inspire and uplift the rest of us. They remind us that we’re all human and we’re all in this together.
Together, we build community and we make a difference.

We provide a one-of-a-kind facility that is vendor free & BYO. Available to artists/musicians/creatives 7 days a week, we host countless Jams, Rehearsals, Workshops, Mixers, Educational Programs, Lessons, Literary Engagements, Community Events and more.

The Monarch is the ultimate listening room experience for both the performing artists and the listening audience. Founded on the basis of giving artists a place to develop and share their music both with fellow musicians between shows, and be featured in shows with a captive audience. It's a "Bring your own eats & drinks" and enjoy meeting some of the most beautiful souls Louisville has. Peace.

Wow. I had made my first visit to view a few local artists and I was very captivated with the whole environment. Plenty of comfortable seating to socialize while enjoying time here with my wife. Safe and accessible for any type of artist or creative. Would love to come back and see live music or lay down vinyls on the turntable in the common room. I'm very happy a place like this exists in Louisville.
